Bob Dubey was elected to serve as Mayor in May 2023, and has served on the City Council since 2017. Prior to being elected, he served as the chairman of the City of Richardson Charter Review Commission (2014-15), was the chairman of the City’s Park and Recreation Commission for four years after serving as Vice Chairman for two years, and is an alumni of Leadership Richardson Class XXIV. He currently is a member of the Metroplex Mayors Association, serves as a Liaison for the North Central Texas Council of Governments, as an alternate for the Regional Transportation Council and is a Ex-Officio member of the Chamber of Commerce Board and Leadership Richardson Advisory Board.
Mayor Dubey has lived and worked in Richardson for more than 60 years, attending RISD schools from Kindergarten through graduation. In 2016, he retired from the Richardson Independent School District after 40 years of service, as a teacher, coach and seventeen years as the District’s Athletic Director. While with the RISD, he served as District University Interscholastic League (UIL) chairman, Regional Director for the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association (THSADA) and as THSADA president.
Throughout his career, Mayor Dubey has been awarded RISD Health Teacher of the Year, Meadows Foundation Award, Lifetime PTA Membership, State Award of Merit from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, Dallas Times Herald Metroplex Coach of the Year, Dallas Cowboys High School Coach of the Week, National Football Foundation Gridiron Club of Dallas Athletic Director of the Year, THSADA Athletic Director of the Year, and inducted into the THSADA Hall of Honor.
Mayor Dubey is a graduate of Southern Arkansas University. He and his wife, Tammy, have two children and six grandchildren and live in Southeast Richardson.
